The Gifting Grant ( 2017) creates opportunities for personal development and recognizes personal achievement through our monthly funding campaign where we raise $10,000 to give away $1,000 to 10 recipients per month to support:
This campaign is special because it's funded by you and random donors. Yes, a real partnership! The applicant would support the person in front and behind by a $50 contribution to participate in this program. We anticipate on average 100 applicants a month funding half the program and the other half funded by random donors. With this type of momentum, we can support 120 individuals every year! So, come be part of history and let’s give to change lives.

Dovetail Project (This is a program in which the Love Foundation served as a Fiscal Agent from 2012-2014.)
Sheldon Smith, Founder and Executive Director
The Dovetail Project is a fatherhood initiative established to teach young African-American fathers (ages 15 to 24) the parenting and life skills they need to help them become better fathers. Additionally, it educates them about law enforcement encounters to help them avoid becoming another statistic, keeping them out of the legal system so they can be present in their children’s lives. Young African-American men are taught parenting skills, life skills, and as well as how to conduct themselves in encounters with law enforcement, knowledge about their rights, and avoiding incarceration.
A 10-week curriculum presented by established professionals includes interactive lectures, group discussions, field trips, and exposure to free community resources that can assist young fathers in giving their children a better start in life. The Dovetail Project gives participants knowledge, confidence, and resources to assume a more positive and consistent role in the lives of their children.
The Dovetail Project serves the greater area of Chicago, Illinois.
